Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you use the GPT for Slides Google Slides add-on by MagicSlides (the "Add-on") — available on the Google Workspace Marketplace — or visit https://www.gptforslides.app (the "Site").
It explains the types of data we handle (including Google user data accessed through the Add-on), how we use it, with whom we share it, and how long we keep it.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the Add-on, including:
- Contact details such as your email address.
- Usage information, such as whether you have installed or opened the Add-on and which features you interact with inside Google Slides.
- Content you submit or generate in the Add-on — for example, topics, prompts, URLs, YouTube links, PDFs, or documents you ask us to turn into slides.
- Technical data like device/browser type and IP address used to help secure and improve the service.
Google User Data
When you install GPT for Slides from the Google Workspace Marketplace and connect your Google account, we access Google user data only for the scopes you authorize so we can provide the requested add-on features inside Google Slides.
- Basic profile details (name, email) to authenticate you and display your account inside the add-on sidebar.
- Google Slides content you explicitly select or generate — prompts you provide and slides the add-on creates, edits, or formats in the presentation you are working on.
- Google Drive files you explicitly choose to import (such as a PDF or document) so the add-on can turn them into slides. We only access files you pick, not your wider Drive.
- Google Sheets data from spreadsheets you explicitly choose to use. This data is used only to provide requested functionality such as analysis, summaries, chart generation, and slide content creation inside GPT for Slides. For Google Sheets features, GPT for Slides requests read-only access only and does not edit, delete, or write back to your Google Sheets.
- OAuth tokens that allow the add-on to perform the actions you approve; these are stored securely and used solely to deliver the requested functionality.
- Slide images: We capture images of your slides solely for preview purposes within the add-on. We do not edit, delete, or modify your presentation content through this process.
We do not access other Google account content without your direction, and we do not sell Google user data. GPT for Slides' use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the GPT for Slides add-on and related services.
- Create, edit, and deliver slide content you request, including actions performed via Google APIs inside Google Slides, Drive, and Sheets.
- Communicate with you about the Add-on, including support and service updates.
- Develop new features, troubleshoot issues, and protect against fraud or abuse.
How We Share or Disclose Information (Including Google User Data)
We share personal information and Google user data only in these circumstances:
- With service providers that host, store, analyze, or support the Add-on (for example, cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery, and customer support tools) under confidentiality and data protection obligations.
- With Google via Google APIs to perform the specific actions you initiate in your Google account (for example, inserting slides into your presentation).
- For legal, safety, or security reasons if required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- In the event of a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), subject to notice and continued protection of your data.
We do not sell or rent personal information or Google user data.
Retention and Deletion of Google User Data
- We retain personal information and Google user data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.
- OAuth tokens and related Google user data are removed or revoked when you uninstall the Add-on, disconnect your Google account, delete your account, or after extended inactivity in line with our security policies.
- Google Sheets access tokens and spreadsheet data used for requested features are retained only as needed to provide the service and are removed, revoked, or allowed to expire when you disconnect your Google account, delete your account, or request deletion, subject to legal or compliance requirements.
- You can request deletion at support@magicslides.app; we will delete Google user data and other personal information from active systems within a reasonable period (typically within 30 days) unless we must retain certain records for legal or compliance purposes. Backup copies are removed on their normal retention cycle.
- You can also revoke the Add-on's access at any time from your Google account's third-party app permissions page.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including access controls, encryption in transit, and monitoring for misuse.
Your Choices & Contact
You can uninstall the Add-on or disconnect your Google account at any time, and you may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your data.
